Job summary

Hyve Solutions is seeking a Test Operator III to perform advanced functional and diagnostic testing on server and storage hardware. The role ensures products meet quality standards before shipment and requires deep knowledge of server components and OS environments.

You will configure, troubleshoot, and document test results, collaborate with engineering, and help improve testing processes. This position emphasizes reliability, safety, and ongoing mentoring for peers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in technical field preferred.
• 5+ years of hardware testing experience, preferably in server/storage/PC manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of server architecture and components (CPUs, RAM, HDDs/SSDs, RAID) and OS (Linux, Windows Server).
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software (POST diagnostics, memory testers, drive utilities).
• Ability to read technical docs, schematics, and test plans.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving with attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication for documenting issues and collaborating with team.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand long periods.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities

• Perform complex functional and diagnostic tests on server boards, systems, and related components using various testing equipment and software.
• Configure and troubleshoot test environments, including network connections, operating systems, and specialized applications.
• Analyze test results, identify failures, and accurately document findings using internal tracking systems.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve technical issues and improve test processes.
• Conduct root cause analysis for test failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist in the development and validation of new test procedures and scripts.
• Train and mentor less experienced test operators on established testing protocols and best practices.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety regulations.
• Operate and maintain specialized test equipment, performing routine calibration and troubleshooting as needed.

Job Qualifications

• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for documenting issues and collaborating with team members.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
