Job summary

Lunar Energy is seeking an Engineering Technician II, Test Operations (Contract) to support daily test operations for our energy products in Mountain View, CA. This hands-on role requires meticulous documentation and problem-solving.

You will run test scripts, inspect DUTs, manage inventory, and collaborate with engineers to improve equipment and processes. Knowledge of electrical safety, test harnesses, and Python is valued; previous work with home batteries or solar systems is a plus.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented with strong documentation habits and ability to spot anomalies.
• Strong communicator who asks questions and flags issues clearly.
• Must complete HV/LV safety training and handle electronics with care.
• Experience building test harnesses for engineering testing environments.
• Experience operating environmental chambers and various test equipment.
• Comfortable with Python scripts and terminal usage.
• Ability to read basic electrical schematics.
• Experience with home batteries, solar, or home electrical work.

Responsibilities

• Monitor ongoing testing.
• Take pre- and post-test photos and conduct functional inspections of DUTs with training from test engineers.
• Run test scripts, swap equipment between runs and support minor repairs.
• Support offsite testing as needed.
• Tag DUTs and maintain post-test inventory.
• Keep test benches, equipment, and labels organized; maintain lab cleanliness.
• Maintain inventory of common lab equipment and order more as needed.
• Flag equipment issues or process improvements to the engineering team.
