Job summary

RTX Corporation's Hurricane Mesa Test Facility seeks a Test Operations Manager to lead day-to-day tasks of a diverse engineering team and to drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement across all test types.

You will develop and own the site’s QC/QA framework, oversee track loading and final readiness, and provide targeted quality oversight for propulsion and energetic systems, ensuring schedule adherence and effective risk management.

Qualifications

• Experience in a test environment with energetic/propulsive systems.
• Experience coordinating technical projects and guiding multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
• Effective at presenting technical information to internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day tasking for a team of engineers (camera, instrumentation, and electrical).
• Enforce test plans, procedures, and safety protocols; champion checklist discipline before, during, and after events.
• Define and run the site’s quality framework—SOPs, checklists, calibration, readiness reviews, lessons learned.
• Provide quality oversight for propulsion and energetic systems in partnership with responsible engineers.
• Oversee track loading and final readiness; act as deputy during TRRs and test days.
• Align engineering tasks, materials, and staffing to program schedules; communicate with external stakeholders as delegated.
• Coach and cross-train team members; reinforce safety and quality behaviors.
• Identify and implement data-integrity improvements to increase repeatability and reduce risk.
• Perform field-based work around heavy equipment and energetic systems.
• Carry out physically demanding tasks related to track loading and outdoor test support.
