Job summary

Veracity Engineering is seeking an IT Specialist to support FAA NAS Security at the William J. Hughes Technical Center in Atlantic City, NJ. You will minimize cyber security event impact and support availability and restoration of ATO systems and services.

Responsibilities include configuring and maintaining LAN/WAN environments, designing interface programs, and implementing security procedures around VMware VSphere and hyperconverged infrastructure (VXRail).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• Master's degree or MBA may substitute for Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience.
• PhD may substitute for Bachelor's degree and 7 years of experience.
• Knowledge of VMware and experience with hyperconverged systems (Dell EMC VXRail) are required.

Veracity Engineering has an exciting opportunity for an T&E IT Specialist with the FAA at the William J. Hughes Technical Center in Atlantic City, NJ. This position is responsible for supporting The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) NAS Security to minimize the impact of cyber security events or incidents in support of availability and restoration requirements for ATO systems and services. The FAA runs a multi-faceted cybersecurity program to protect the NAS in accordance with the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA).

• Provide expertise in compiling, arranging, storing and retrieval of information to facilitate support of the FAA customer, project, or program.
• Administers, evaluates, installs, maintains, and provides overall support for LANs and WANs.
• Designs, tests, and implements interface programs, develops security procedures, regulate usage, and maintain entire VMware Virtual Production VSphere - ESXi 6.7 and Development LAN environments. Works on hyperconverged infrastructure, VXRail solutions.
• Completes schema exports required for the test and development environments when those environments need to be refreshed per a release development plan, disaster recovery/COOP test, environment upgrade (hardware change, patches (UNIX, Oracle, Postgres, and SQL patches, etc. or testing. ports must be monitored by the development team Data Base administrator (DBA)Performs planning, cost analysis and all aspects of large-scale projects.
• Implements large scale LAN and WAN networks applications and troubleshoots problem areas which includes design, tests, building of servers, backup, networking, trouble shooting, and all operations.
• Coordinates network policy, procedures, and standards. Assists training of users.

Must Haves:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related information technology field.
• 5 years of relevant experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree.
• Master's Degree or MBA in related field may be substituted for bachelor's degree and 3 years' experience.
• PhD in related field may be substituted for bachelor's degree and 7 years' experience.
• Must have knowledge of VMware
• Experience with Hyperconverged systems such as Dell EMC VXRail, knowledge of VSAN
