Job summary

Boeing Test & Evaluation in Seattle, WA is seeking a Metrology & Calibration Technician contractor to calibrate and certify Measurement and Test Equipment across RF, microwave and DC/LF ranges. You will support programs like 777X, 737MAX, 787, P-8 and more in a fast-paced lab environment.

Responsibilities include updating equipment status, performing calibrations, documenting results, and ensuring compliance with metrology procedures, safety standards and quality expectations.

Qualifications

• U.S. Person per 22 C.F.R. and related export controls.
• 5+ years of related work experience or equivalent education.
• 3+ years in DC/LF or RF and Microwave Metrology.
• Experience with metrology lab processes and documentation.

• Update radio & high frequency electronics and DC/LF equipment status using established systems and paperwork.
• Ensure equipment is ready for calibration per metrology processes.
• Prioritize and perform work per daily report lists or by lead.
• Perform visual checks for discrepancies and wear on equipment.
• Identify, document, and route non-conforming items per lab processes.
• Process equipment using calibration procedures, specs, drawings, and MT&E.
• Calibrate to manufacturer performance specifications.
• Conduct routine tests, analyze data, and document results.
• Use calibration standards to calibrate, adjust, certify, maintain, and repair MT&E.
• Provide information to customers on metrology processes.
• Collaborate with others in calibration and certification tasks.
• Assist in developing new calibration processes and procedures.
• Perform computations to analyze measurement results.

This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full-time employment offer with Boeing. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project.

Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) is looking for Metrology & Calibration Technician contractor to join our team in Seattle, WA.

As a calibration technician, you will have an important role in the company that includes calibration and certification of Measurement and Test Equipment in electronics metrology parameters such as radio frequency, microwave and direct current/low frequency. You will tackle new and challenging problems every day. You will be supporting commercial and military programs such as 777X, 737MAX, 787, P-8, Tanker, and others.

This role will be responsible for providing products and services that meet the highest technical and quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies and processes and embrace safety and first-time quality as a way of life – not accepting, creating or passing any defects and speaking up.

Position Responsibilities

• Update radio & high frequency electronics and DC/LF equipment status using established systems and complete associated paperwork
• Ensure equipment is ready for calibration per metrology processes
• Prioritize and perform work according to automated daily report list, hot list, or as assigned by lead technician
• Perform visual check of Electronic Measurement and Test Equipment/process equipment for discrepancies and wear
• Identify, document, and route non-conforming items in accordance with metrology lab processes
• Process equipment using approved calibration procedures, process specifications, equipment drawings, and Measurement and Test Equipment
• Process equipment to manufacturer's performance specifications
• Conduct routine tests, analyze data and document results
• Use calibration standards to calibrate, adjust, certify, maintain, and repair Measurement and Test Equipment
• Provide information and clarification to customers on metrology processes
• Work with other employees engaged in the calibration and certification of Measurement and Test Equipment
• Assist in the development of new calibration processes and procedures
• Perform computations necessary to analyze measurement test results

Level 3 Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

• To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R.
• 120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
• 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3+ years of experience with Electrical/Electronic - DC/LF or RF and Microwave Metrology process
• Familiarity with Excel, MET/CAL, LabVIEW, Basic/Visual Basic, computer networking, and troubleshooting
• Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
• Associate's degree or above
• 7 years or more work experience in a calibration lab
• 3+ years of experience in a PMEL (Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory) back shop for the military
• Certified Calibration Technician (CCT)
• Experience using and configuring data acquisition units
• Experience running and configuring automated hardware tests
• Experience in the aerospace industry

Pay Rate Range

29 - 34 USD hourly
