Job summary

SPX Technologies is seeking a Test Equipment Technician II to support engineering and lab operations by building, maintaining, and troubleshooting test setups used for product development. You will interpret drawings, assemble prototypes, modify equipment, and ensure data is accurate and reliable.

The role emphasizes hands-on fabrication, calibration, and compliance with industry standards while collaborating with engineers to resolve issues and improve testing processes.

Qualifications

• Experience working with mechanical or electrical test equipment, assembly, or maintenance in a manufacturing, lab, or engineering environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical schematics.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to equipment and systems.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical components, and testing methods.
• Ability to work under general supervision while managing assigned tasks and priorities.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications for data entry, documentation, and test reporting.

Responsibilities

• Test equipment assembly & modification following blueprints and drawings.
• Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate performance under varying conditions.
• Troubleshoot and repair test equipment and data acquisition systems.
• Maintain safety procedures and lab readiness, including equipment calibration.
• Review results with engineering to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
