Job summary

Lunar Energy is seeking a Test Engineering Technician for a 6-month contract to help build and test hardware in a lab setting. You will lead and grow a technician team, perform complex prototype builds, troubleshoot circuits with the EE team, solder and assemble test hardware, and support post-test teardown with reliability and test groups.

• Associate degree in Electronics, or similar, and/or 5 years of experience in the field.
• 5+ years of experience working in an R&D or development lab environment in close collaboration with engineering staff.
• Good interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively with other individuals in a team or project setting.
• Self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, consistently take the initiative to get things done, and do things before being asked by others.
• Ability to consistently make timely decisions even in the face of complexity; balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness.
• Some Production support experience, software development experience.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering prototype builds of complex electromechanical assemblies.
• Perform troubleshooting on circuits, down to device level, in collaboration with the EE team.
• Perform soldering, mechanical assembly, and fabrication of simple test boxes and cables
• Perform system and equipment level testing per Engineering direction
• Experience with prototype builds, test, and fixture builds
• Prepare test articles and support post-test product tear-downs in collaboration with reliability and test teams.
• Feedback on product performance/inadequacies to Engineering
• Evaluate technician requirements and support the build-out of the Lunar technician organization.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment throughout builds and engineering tests.
• Safely manage materials and equipment

Test Engineering Technician (6 month contract)

Engineering technicians will play an instrumental role in the success of Lunar Energy by helping to build and test all of our key hardware products in a lab environment. We're looking for someone to be both hands-on with our products as well as a leader to shape and manage a growing technician organization. On a given day at Lunar, you'll likely:

• Support engineering prototype builds of complex electromechanical assemblies.

Please note that the hourly range information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position provided pursuant to the Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act for California applicants. The hourly range estimate for this position depending on level of experience is $35-$75 USD
