Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of test engineers and technicians.
  • Design and implement testing procedures for functional testing of automatic transmissions.
  • Oversee the design, setup, and maintenance of test equipment, fixtures, and environments.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and contribute to the development of best practices in testing.
  • Ensure that all testing equipment is properly calibrated and maintained. Troubleshoot and resolve any equipment issues.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of testing procedures, results, and modifications made during the testing process.
  • Analyze test results, identify root cause of failures, and work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
  • Assist in training team members on testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics, including test coverage, defect rates, and cycle times.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to test processes, automation, and efficiency.
  • Partner with on-site EHS to ensure all equipment meets safety regulations compliant with OSHA.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in product testing or test engineering, with 3+ in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with test automation and data analysis tools.
  • Understand operational theory of automatic transmissions.
  • Experience with assembly of complex hydraulic/mechanical assemblies.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills across multi-disciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with testing equipment specific to automotive transmissions.
  • Experience with LabVIEW, NI TestStand, Python, or other test automation platforms.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems, electronics, and software used in modern automatic transmissions.
  • Background in automotive, aerospace, electronics, or industrial manufacturing environments.
