Job summary

ETE REMAN is seeking a Dyno Failure Technician to diagnose, inspect, disassemble, repair and rebuild transmissions on the production line in Milwaukee. You will work with the dyno and other testing equipment to evaluate failures and ensure quality in the remanufacturing process for customers.

The role requires meticulous attention to measurements, strong hands-on skills, and the ability to work with safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Able to read measurements, specs and graphs with attention to detail.
  • Prior transmission repair, building and diagnostic experience required.
  • Willing to get dirty and work with chemicals as needed.
  • Proficient with hands-on tools and safety practices.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long shifts.
  • Strong time management, communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly inspect and diagnose transmissions, disassemble and repair.
  • Use computer system to track workload, read issues and record findings.
  • Perform quality checks and provide feedback on warranty units/claims.
  • Inform supervisor of issues and follow processes and procedures.
  • Assist in building transmissions on the production line when ready.
  • Help train new personnel and work overtime when needed.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment at workstation.

Job description

As a Dyno Failure Technician you play a major role in the team of providing the best, highest quality, and most reliable transmission in the industry. You are our transmission surgeon, performing tests and rigorous evaluation of what failed with a transmission. This is key and very important in the remanufacturing process of transmissions and to all our customers. Your day will be spent thoroughly diagnosing, inspecting, disassembling, repairing and building transmissions following our process & procedures. Working efficiently, interacting and helping other team members to ensure daily demands are met and processes run smoothly on the production line.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Thoroughly inspect and analyze transmissions, component parts and make all necessary repairs
  • Utilize computer system to track workload, read issues and record findings, transfer units for dyno testing
  • Perform quality checks, provide conclusive information and feedback on all warranty units/claims
  • Inform supervisor and manager of common issues and critical information, follow process & procedures
  • Assist in building transmissions on the production line when caught up with failures and warranty units
  • Suggest improvements, help train new personnel and work overtime when needed
  • Follow directions from supervisors and managers, be proactive and helpful
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment, be at your workstation on time daily

Qualifications:
  • Ability to perform computer tasks, read measurements, specifications and graphs, be detail oriented
  • Must be 18 years old, have previous transmission repair, building and diagnostic experience
  • Willingness and understanding you will get dirty at times, and will have to work with chemicals
  • Skill and ability of working with your hands, air & hand tools (must provide your own) and other instruments
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand & work on your feet for 8+ hours a day and under pressure at times
  • Have a Can-Do Attitude, with good time management, communication and decision-making skills
  • Self-starting and motivated; believe in teamwork and uphold the ability to always help others
  • Adhere to all safety rules, give it your all every day, must have regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
