Job summary

RTX is offering a full-time co-op in Test Engineering at Collins Aerospace in Virgin, UT. You will support test setup, execution, and technical operations across onsite programs and learn from engineers in a hands-on mentorship.

You will work with high-speed cameras, energetic propulsion devices, and test fixtures, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and gain experience in aerospace testing during May–December term.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in a STEM field and enrolled through internship/co-op
• Experience in test environments is preferred
• Experience with energetic materials or aerospace testing is a plus
• Experience with high‑speed video systems or data acquisition systems
• Comfort working on cross‑functional teams
• Prior RTX internship or co‑op experience is beneficial

What You Will Do

Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday‑Friday co‑op session, that will run May/June- December (including the Fall semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity). As a Test Engineering Co‑op at Collins Aerospace, you will be responsible for supporting test setup, execution, and general technical operations across all onsite programs. Work as part of an engineering team in developing, testing, and qualifying various aircraft escape systems and components. Set up and operate high‑speed cameras (Ametek Phantom and others) to capture test events, including fixed‑position and tracking applications. Support safe handling and setup of energetic propulsion devices such as HVAR rocket motors and small explosive initiators under guidance from staff. Collaborate with engineers on building, modifying, and preparing test fixtures and test articles based on program requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co‑op session. Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Relocation Eligibility.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
