Job summary

RTX internship opportunity in systems engineering focusing on requirements capture and integration for aerospace projects in the US. You will assist OEM collaboration, decompose requirements, and help craft verification procedures for certification artifacts.

You will learn the system engineering process, interact with design teams, and gain exposure to AGILE planning and certification preparation in a real-world environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM discipline and enrolled through the internship/co-op session.
• Educational background covering requirements capture & definition, integration, verification & validation testing.

Responsibilities

• Support requirements capture from aircraft OEMs.
• Decompose and allocate requirements to domains within Collins Aerospace.
• Help create test procedures to verify and validate requirements.
• Assist in creating and completing certification artifacts.
• Answer customer questions and investigate issues related to software/hardware delivered to the OEM.
• Assist investigations of root causes found during flight test and in-service operations.

What You Will Do

• Support requirements capture from aircraft Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM)
• Decompose and allocate requirements to appropriate domains within Collins Aerospace
• Support the creation of test procedures to verify and validate requirements
• Support the creation and completion of certification artifacts
• Support customer questions and investigate issues related to software and hardware delivered to the OEM
• Support investigations of root causes of issues discovered during flight test and in-service aircraft operations

Qualifications You Must Have

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
• An educational background covering requirements capture & definition, integration, verification & validation testing.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Basic experience working within an aerospace related engineering development environment
• Basic experience with DOORS, JIRA, JAMA, and data capture tools or any other tools that achieve the same functions.
• Experience or knowledge using data bus tools such as A429 and A664 readers for data analysis in design, prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting
• Basic experience with the AGILE framework for workflow planning and development
• Basic working knowledge of a software language such as Python, C++, is an advantage
