Job summary

AKG North America in Mebane, NC is seeking a Test Engineer to join our manufacturing team. You will perform hands-on testing, validate new products, and develop methods for verification of product characteristics, focusing on Battery Thermal Management Systems.

Qualifications

ABET-accredited Mechanical Engineering degree required.
Strong background in thermodynamics.
Solid structural knowledge.
Strong written and spoken English communication skills.

Responsibilities

Support validation for new products to meet market needs.
Perform component selection (heat exchangers, pumps, fans, compressors, controls, etc).
Apply design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).
Commit to AKG’s corporate principles.
Support market research led by Marketing and Product Development Manager and identify opportunities for product improvement.
Develop new tests and methods for validation and verification of product characteristics and requirements.
Execute verification and validation testing as requested by other departments.
Write technical reports summarizing testing and validation efforts.
Provide engineering support to Testing and Validation department.
Build and test Battery Thermal Management Systems (BTMS) prototypes.
