Job summary

Vermeer in Pella, Iowa, is seeking an Engineer I – Test for the Engineering Development Program 2027. This entry-level role supports testing and validation of products and subsystems, gaining hands-on experience with test procedures, data collection, and real-world performance requirements.

Under guidance from more experienced engineers, you will set up test equipment, collect data, assist with root-cause investigations, and document setups and results to ensure traceability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Agricultural, or Aerospace Engineering.
• 0–2 years of experience (internships or co-ops accepted).
• Exposure to basic data acquisition (DAQ) systems, sensors, and instrumentation.
• Fundamental understanding of engineering concepts such as stress, strain, hydraulics, vibration, electrical systems and EMC.

Responsibilities

• Support and execute product validation testing (durability, reliability, performance, and compliance) in lab and limited field environments under guidance.
• Set up, operate, and support test equipment, instrumentation, and DAQ systems following established procedures.
• Collect, organize, and perform basic analysis of test data to support engineering conclusions.
• Assist with root cause investigations by gathering data, performing repeat tests, and documenting observations.
• Document test setups, procedures, and results clearly to support traceability and reporting.
• Collaborate with test leads and cross-functional teams while following safety, quality, and documentation standards.
