Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks a Test Engineer / Principal Test Engineer for the AVE-IATC team, based in Roy, UT, supporting the Sentinel Program. The role focuses on developing test plans, coordinating with SMEs and design teams, and ensuring thorough verification activities across hardware and software interfaces.

The position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance, with experience in test instrumentation and system integration.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen with ability to obtain DoD security clearance for the role.
• Experience with software and/or hardware testing.
• Working knowledge of system integration (HW and SW).
• Experience developing, planning, and executing test plans and reporting.
• Familiarity with test instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop customer contractual needs and requirements into test solutions with respect to technical schedule and cost constraints.
• Develop and direct preparation and execution of test plans, procedures and schedules.
• Review and evaluate test requirements for completeness of test program.
• Coordinate with SMEs, element test teams, and system test teams to identify test objectives, requirements, and risks needing mitigation.
• Support instrumentation requirements for Hardware-in-the-Loop testing.
• Identify test support requirements and coordinate with Design & Integration teams for budget and personnel needs.
• Oversee test activities in support of verification and validation.
• Conduct daily briefings and approve test starts for each test event.
• Coordinate and conduct Technical and Safety Review Boards, and Test Readiness Reviews.
• Prepare Test Planning Team charters and coordinate with Quality for test support.
• Review and approve major test amendments.
• Communicate effectively across all levels of employees and management.
• Collaborate with multiple engineering teams to define test objectives for HW/SW-in-the-loop lab.
