Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Software Test Engineer in Roy, Utah to support the Sentinel Program. The engineer will manage requirements identification, verification planning, and testing of software against system requirements, with a focus on automated and manual testing.

The role involves cross-disciplinary collaboration, test planning and reporting, and ensuring traceability from requirements to tests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, 5 years of experience or 3 years with a Master's or 4 years in lieu of degree.
• U.S. citizen with active DoD Secret clearance (within scope < 6 yrs) and ability to obtain SAP approval.
• Familiarity with Software Engineering processes and test engineering practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, development, and implementation of testing methods and equipment.
• Test planning, execution, reporting, and integration support.
• Prepare detailed test reports and support formal verification of the system.
• Compile data and define changes required in test equipment, test procedures, or new test requirements.
• Perform data analysis against requirements and interfaces for each software build or hardware component.
• Interface with software developers and systems engineers in support of verification.
• Product integration, regression, and verification testing including checkout in system test labs.
• Collaborate across disciplines—mechanical, software, test, and program management to gain end-to-end insight into Sentinel missile and Northrop Grumman processes.
