Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Test Engineer to design and implement automated test capabilities for a customer-designed DUT in the NCR region. The role involves wiring bench instrumentation, developing Python and LabVIEW software, and delivering repeatable, calibrated data for customer engineers and technicians.

You will build hardware-in-the-loop tests, create operator GUIs, and maintain test systems while collaborating with customers and program teams.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI; eligible and willing to upgrade to TS/SCI w/polygraph.
• Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in engineering, and at least 8 years of relevant experience, or Master's with 6–10 years; at least 12 years can substitute for degree/education.
• Hands-on experience building a custom automated test system around a physical DUT, not testing existing software.
• Experience with bench test equipment from Agilent, Keysight, HP, Tektronix, and NI, including power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, analyzers, and loads.
• Working knowledge of Python and/or LabVIEW used to write test automation, instrument drivers, and analysis.
• Understanding of measurement traceability and NIST-traceable data.
• Experience operating transmitters, receivers, and power supplies.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to train others and work with customers.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Determine what must be proven about a customer-designed DUT.
• Configure bench instrumentation and connect DUT to test setup.
• Write test automation and analysis software in Python and LabVIEW.
• Develop HIL environments and realistic simulations.
• Create operator-facing GUIs for running tests.
• Establish repeatable, calibrated, NIST-traceable data.
• Maintain and improve automated test systems and drivers.
• Assist configuration management across platforms.
• Train engineers and technicians on the test systems.
• Engage with customers to understand needs and support BD.
• Document test procedures, system architecture, and requirements.
• Attend meetings with program manager and customer team.
