Job summary

SimVentions is seeking a Test Engineer to join the NAVAL NSWC Dahlgren team in Dahlgren, VA. You will design, maintain, and execute automated and manual tests, align test cases to requirements, and collaborate with developers and government customers to resolve defects.

The role requires 2+ years in software/testing, Linux proficiency, and strong communication. U.S. citizenship and on-site work five days a week are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software/systems testing experience or equivalent education.
• Experience running/writing automation scripts or code.
• Comfortable reviewing C++ code.
• Experience using Linux systems.
• Proven ability to link requirements to test cases and manage artifacts.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks.
• Write detailed test plans, test descriptions, and test cases tied to requirements.
• Execute manual and automated testing (static, dynamic, integration, system).
• Perform requirements traceability using DOORS and other tools.
• Identify, document, and track software defects; collaborate with developers for rapid resolution.
• Review peers’ test documentation and provide feedback.
• Participate in Agile Sprint meetings and CCB activities.
• Interface with government customers daily and, when needed, present testing documentation.
