Job summary

Captivation is seeking a senior level test engineer to plan, develop, execute, and automate testing for software, middleware, and HPC infrastructure. You will validate system requirements and ensure reliability, performance, and security of HPC environments. Must hold a Top Secret/SCI clearance and be a U.S.

citizen. Responsibilities include creating test plans, automating tests, and integrating with CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, Docker/Podman, and related tools.

Qualifications

• Eight years of experience as a Test Engineer in programs of similar scope.
• Bachelor’s degree in Math, Science, Engineering or related discipline required.
• Four additional TE years may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, execute and automate testing for HPC software, middleware and infrastructure.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, performance, security and readiness of HPC systems.
• Develop and execute test plans for HPC systems and REST APIs.
• Maintain defect tracking and follow test lifecycle processes.
• Develop automated test solutions and validation frameworks.
• Collaborate with CI/CD teams and utilize GitLab CI.

Description

Captivation Software is looking for a senior level test engineer who shall be responsible for planning, developing, executing, and automating testing activities for software applications, middleware, and infrastructure deployed in High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments to validate system requirements. This position ensures the reliability, scalability, performance, security, and operational readiness of HPC systems.

Requirements

Security Clearance

Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph, therefore all candidates must be a U.S. citizen

Minimum Qualifications

• Eight (8) years' experience as a TE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Math, Science, Engineering, Statistics, Engineering Management, or related discipline form an accredited college or university is required
• Four (4) years of additional TE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

Required Skills

• Experience using Linux CLI and Linux tools
• Proficient using Bash/Python scripting for task automation
• Strong understanding of Linux system administration fundamentals
• 3+ years of software testing, quality assurance, or validation experience in Linux environments
• Experience developing and executing test plans for HPC systems
• Experience integrating and testing REST APIs related to HPC systems
• Demonstrated experience in defect tracking and resolution processes
• Experience with software testing methodologies and test lifecycle management
• Experience developing automated test solutions and validation frameworks
• Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools including GitLab CI
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, PodMan
• Experience with Git Source Control System

Desired Skills

• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)
• Familiar with Splunk for searching, monitoring, and analyzing machine generated data
• Familiar with SAFe Agile principles, methodologies, and best practices
• Experience with IaC principles and automation tools including Ansible
