Job summary

Captivation is seeking a mid-level software engineer to develop and maintain HPC Linux infrastructure software. The role requires a TS/SCI clearance and U.S. citizenship, with multiple degree/experience paths to qualify.

The engineer will utilize Python and Rust, automate tasks with Bash/Python, and contribute to deployment automation using Ansible in a Linux environment. A strong background in security and system administration is essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph and be a U.S. citizen.
• Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline with 3+ years of SWE experience or Bachelor's with 5+ years, in similar scope/contracts.
• 7+ years of SWE experience in similar scope/contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain system management infrastructure software for HPC Linux environments.
• Implement authentication, authorization logic, and access control for HPC systems.
• Automate tasks and pipelines using Bash, Python, and CI/CD practices.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver robust deployment automation with Ansible.

Description

Captivation Software is looking for a mid level software engineer who shall be responsible for developing and maintaining system management infrastructure software and services for High Performance Computing (HPC) systems in a Linux environment.

Requirements

• Security Clearance: Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph, therefore all candidates must be a U.S. citizen


• Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus three (3) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.


• Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity


• Minimum Qualifications: Seven (7) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Required Skills

• Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux tools


• Proficiency in scripting (Bash/Python) to automate tasks and processes


• Recent software development experience using Python


• Recent software development experience using Rust


• Experience with automation frameworks including Ansible for orchestrating deployment


• Experience developing authentication protocols, authorization logic, access control lists, and permissions for HPC systems in a Linux environment


• Basic Linux systems administration including User and Group Management


• Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools including GitLab CI


• Familiar with Agile, Scrum, or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies


• Experience with Git Source Control System

Desired Skills

• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, PodMan, containers


• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)
