Job summary

Captivation seeks a mid-level software engineer to develop and maintain HPC infrastructure software on Linux. You will contribute to scalable, mission-critical systems in a secure environment in Maryland.

Applicants should be proficient with Linux CLI, Bash/Python scripting, and GitLab CI, and be familiar with Agile practices. This direct-hire position requires U.S. citizenship and a security clearance.

Description

Captivation Software is looking for a mid level software engineer who shall be responsible for developing and maintaining system management infrastructure software and services for High Performance Computing (HPC) systems in a Linux environment.

Requirements

• Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph, therefore all candidates must be a U.S. citizen

Minimum Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus three (3) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
• Seven (7) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Required Skills

• Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux tools
• Proficiency in scripting (Bash/Python) to automate tasks and processes
• Recent software development experience using PythonFamiliar with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools including GitLab CI
• Familiar with Agile, Scrum, or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies
• Experience with Git Source Control System

Desired Skills

• Experience with automation frameworks including Ansible for orchestrating deployment
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, PodMan, containers
• Experience with Secret Management tools including HashiCorp Vault
• Familiar with Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions including Keycloak
• Familiar with Datacenter Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools including Netbox
• Familiar with Observability and Analytics platform solutions such as Splunk
• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)
