Job summary

Captivation is seeking a mid-level software engineer to develop and maintain system management infrastructure software and services for High Performance Computing (HPC) systems in a Linux environment.

The role requires security clearance (Top Secret/SCI with favorable polygraph) and U.S. citizenship. Candidates should hold a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field and have several years of SWE experience. Baltimore area work is expected with competitive compensation and benefits.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline, plus 5 years of SWE experience.
• Seven years of SWE experience in similar scope, requirements, and complexity.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain system management infrastructure software for HPC in a Linux environment.
• Contribute to automation and tooling to streamline operations (Bash, Python).
• Work with DCIM/Netbox and Vault to secure infrastructure assets and secrets.
• Collaborate with IAM (Keycloak) and CI/CD teams (GitLab/Jenkins) to implement secure deployment pipelines.

Description

Captivation Software is looking for a mid level software engineer who shall be responsible for developing and maintaining system management infrastructure software and services for High Performance Computing (HPC) systems in a Linux environment.

Requirements

Security Clearance:

• Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph, therefore all candidates must be a U.S. citizen

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus three (3) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
• Seven (7) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Required Skills

• Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux tools
• Experience developing Bash scripts to automate manual processes
• Recent software development experience using Python
• Familiar with Datacenter Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools such as Netbox
• Experience with Secret Management tools such as HashiCorp Vault
• Familiar with Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions such as Keycloak
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, PodMan, containers
• Experience with automation frameworks including Ansible for orchestrating deployment
• Familiar with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI and Jenkins
• Experience with Git Source Control System

Desired Skills

• Familiar with Observability and Analytics platform solutions such as Splunk
• Familiar with Agile, Scrum, or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies
• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)
