Job summary

Exmark, located in Beatrice, Nebraska, seeks an engineer to evaluate prototype and production equipment, directing field and lab tests and designing test fixtures to simulate real-world use.

You will coordinate prototype builds and work with quality and manufacturing teams to validate production processes, applying Lean methods for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• B.S. Engineering or Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program.
• Mechanical aptitude required.
• Engineer I: 0-2 years related experience.
• Engineer II: 2-4 years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate performance of prototype and production equipment in field and simulated conditions.
• Direct and conduct field and laboratory testing of products or components.
• Design and direct construction of test fixtures and procedures to simulate field use.
• Organize test programs including facilities, manpower, procedures and timing.
• Review product designs for potential weak areas and latent safety defects.
• Perform concept evaluations on submitted products and report results promptly.
• Coordinate prototype builds with Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Production.
• Collaborate with Quality engineers to plan production validation and drive corrective actions.
• Identify and apply Lean methodologies to ensure processes are controlled and improved.

What Will You Do?

• Aids in evaluation of performance of prototype and production equipment in field and simulated field conditions according to product parameters.
• Directs and conducts field and laboratory testing of products or components.
• Designs and directs construction of test fixtures and test procedures to simulate field use for lab performance and durability testing.
• Organizes test programs including facilities, manpower, procedure and timing.
• Reviews product designs for potential weak areas.
• Reviews designs for potential latent safety defects.
• Performs concept evaluations on products submitted.
• Reports results on a timely basis.
• Works with Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Production to coordinate prototype builds.
• Works with Quality engineers to plan production validation program. Evaluates results and recommends corrective action when required.
• Identify and apply Lean methodologies to ensure processes are scientifically controlled and continuously improved.
• Supports the company Quality Policy by applying the total quality principles.

What Do You Need?

• B.S. Engineering, Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited college or university).
• Engineer I-0-2 years related experience
• Engineer II-2-4 years related experience
• Mechanical aptitude required

Preferred to Have:

• Experience with safety standards
• CAD experience
• Data analysis

• Competitive Salary - The pay range takes into account skills, experience, education, and location. It is not common to be hired at or near the top of the range; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the annual pay range is between $ 72,200.00 - 90,000.0 0. Cash compensation is one piece of our competitive total rewards package.
