Job summary

BTI in Washington, DC is seeking a Test Engineer to perform testing and verification of software, report defects, and coordinate with developers on results. You will work in an Agile team and contribute to test planning and documentation.

Responsibilities include crafting test scripts, conducting automated and performance testing, ensuring Section 508 accessibility, and participating in design reviews, UAT, and pre-deployment testing.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in CS, statistics, mathematics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• DHS Trusted Tester certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• At least 3+ years of experience with Section 508 accessibility.
• 3-7 years in SDLC with test engineering in an agile environment.
• 3-5 years of load, stress, and performance testing of web applications.
• 1-3 years developing written test scripts and test cases.
• Experience in automated test plans and scripts.
• Experience in GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated testing.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 A/AA and Section 508 accessibility standards.
• Experience with JIRA or other PM tools.

BTI supports mission-critical programs across defense and civilian agencies, with core expertise in cybersecurity, program management, enterprise IT, and technical oversight services.

BTI is currently searching for a Test Engineer to fulfill the roles and responsibilities below:

Roles and Responsibilities

The Test Engineer performs testing and verification of code, reporting and recording defects, coordination with the developers on testing and testing results, documenting test scripts, participating in design reviews, user acceptance testing, and pre-deployment performance testing activities.

The individual will play a key role in ensuring compliance of supported applications with Section 508 standards to ensure applications are accessible to people with disabilities.

This individual will also perform performance testing of the application for stability, speed, scalability, and responsiveness.

They will work in an Agile environment and participate in product planning, development, and deployment activities.

Experience/Qualifications

• Undergraduate college degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or other discipline related to the requirements of this project, or equivalent experience.
• DHS Trusted Tester certification or the ability to gain certification within 90-days.
• At least 3+ years of experience with Section 508.
• At least three (3) to seven (7) years of work experience in Software Development Lifecycle process focusing on test engineering, or equivalent work experience in an agile environment.
• 3-5 years of experience with load testing, stress testing, and other performance testing of web applications.

• 1-3 years of experience in developing written test scripts and test cases.
• Experience in developing, executing automated test plans.
• Experience in using GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and integration is preferred.
• Has knowledge of WCAG 2.1 A and AA / Section 508 accessibility standards and best practices, and experience with remediation.
• Experience using JIRA or other project management software.
