Job summary

GE Aerospace seeks a Test Engineer to provide technical and operational leadership for engine test activities supporting development and production programs.

This role plans, coordinates, and executes complex test campaigns, serving as a key interface across Engineering, Product Management, Operations, Facilities, and Technical Support to ensure test readiness, flawless execution, rapid issue resolution, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Engine Test Operations or similar).
  • Strong technical depth combined with operational leadership capability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, coordination, and execution of multiple engine tests in support of development and production program goals.
  • Provide technical and operational leadership across test activities, balancing priorities, resources, schedules, and cell availability.
  • Partner with Engineering and Product teams to develop test requirements, support new product introduction, and ensure smooth transition from development to production.
  • Oversee pre-test readiness, including test plans, required documentation, hardware and tooling, specialized equipment, and test cell preparation.
  • Lead tollgate, readiness, and technical reviews to ensure test scope, risks, and execution plans are fully aligned before start.
  • Direct engine setup, installation, and test execution in coordination with technicians, facilities, data teams, and other support functions.
  • Monitor test progress, communicate status to stakeholders, respond to technical and data requests, and elevate risks or constraints as needed.
  • Drive troubleshooting and rapid resolution of engine, facility, instrumentation, and data system issues during test execution.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of test documentation, post-test summaries, lessons learned, and closure of follow-up actions.
  • Maintain ownership for multiple test cells, including operational readiness, maintenance coordination, reliability, and performance.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts such as process changes, cell upgrades, kaizens, and lessons learned read‑across across programs and platforms.
  • Capture team feedback, prioritize improvement opportunities, and drive implementation through closure and sustainment.

Job Description Summary A Test Engineer is responsible for providing technical and operational leadership for engine test activities supporting development and production programs. This role leads the planning, coordination, and execution of complex test campaigns. The Test Engineer serves as a key interface across Engineering, Product Management, Operations, Facilities, and Technical Support teams to ensure test readiness, flawless execution, rapid issue resolution, and continuous improvement. This role is expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, drive decisions across competing priorities, and proactively identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost. This role also retains ownership responsibility for multiple test cells and drives strategic initiatives including cell upgrades, process improvements, maintenance planning, and lessons learned implementation across programs and platforms.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Engine Test Operations or similar).
  • Desired Characteristics Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Test Operations or similar).
  • Strong technical depth combined with operational leadership capability
  • High level of ownership, accountability, and independent judgment with the desire and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to anticipate risks, remove barriers, and drive execution across organizational boundaries
  • Comfortable operating at both strategic and hands‑on levels

The base pay range for this position is $98,900-$124,200. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on September11,2026.
