Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Engineering Test Technician to join a team of engineers and technicians working on new product development in our Milwaukee lab. This role emphasizes hands-on testing, prototype work, and validating designs to meet specifications in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has a technical degree and basic electronics test experience. You will run tests, document results, maintain lab equipment, and collaborate with engineers to drive product improvements on onsite

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in a technical field or military training and education
  • Fundamentals of electronics, AC/DC circuits, motors, sensors, pneumatics and controllers
  • Fundamental mechanical abilities and hands on experience
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Able to use hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to solder and wire components
  • Knowledge of mechatronics incorporating mechanical, pneumatics, and electrical components

Responsibilities

  • Setup, execute and analyze engineering tests, including prototyping, material evaluations, and performance assessments to validate designs and specifications
  • Exercise responsibility for thoroughness, timeliness and accuracy of work performed
  • Oversee daily lab operations, including equipment calibration, inventory management and 6s standards
  • Collect, document and analyze test data using tools like oscilloscopes, multimeters, and data acquisition systems, prepare detailed reports and communicate findings to engineering team
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with lab equipment and experimental setups
  • Perform preventative equipment maintenance and repairs of lab equipment
  • Knowledge of machine component applications and assembly
  • Assemble/wire experimental bench top solutions based on Electrical Schematics
  • Wire production electrical control panels based on Electrical Schematics
  • Participate in the improvement and development of testing and automated machinery
  • Agility to multi-task while maintaining efficiency and organization
  • Communicate effectively with engineers and technicians
  • Contribute to organizational goals and objectives

Job Title: Engineering Test Technician

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a team of passionate and driven engineers and technicians working on new product development projects.

Responsibilities

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in a technical field (Electrical, Electronic, Automation, Mechanical) or military training and education

Bonus Skills
  • Familiarity with LabVIEW, PLCs, safety controllers, IO link

  • Basic skills in Electrical and/or Mechanical SolidWorks

  • Hands-on fabrication experience i.e. mill, lathe, welding, etc.

  • Experience with data collection systems and sensor integration

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Milwaukee, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $75000.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
