Job summary

Footbridge Federal is seeking an Automation Test Engineer to create and maintain automated tests ensuring performance, functionality, and system behavior. You will integrate tests into CI/CD and translate requirements into robust test scenarios.

Work with engineering teams to diagnose failures and improve overall quality, documenting procedures and results across test frameworks and defect reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience writing automated tests with Python, Java, or C.
• Strong testing methodologies: integration, functional, regression, and system.
• Experience embedding tests in CI/CD within Agile environments.
• Understanding SDLC and debugging complex software issues.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and diagnose test failures to identify whether issues stem from the test framework, software bugs, or integration points.

• Document test procedures, automation frameworks, test results, and defect reports.

• Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) principles and troubleshooting complex software issues.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience testing distributed systems, enterprise platforms, or defense-related intelligence systems.


• Familiarity with automated testing tools such as PyTest, JUnit, Selenium, TestNG, or Robot Framework.


• Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD platforms like Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.


• Familiarity with containerized environments, cloud-native testing, and DevSecOps practices.


• Experience validating system interfaces and working with Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
