Job summary

ADTRAN, Inc. in Huntsville, AL, is looking for a Test Design Engineer to join a team responsible for developing and implementing functional tests for both new and existing ADTRAN products.

You will design hardware, develop software to support designs, and automate tests in C++ and Python while ensuring test coverage in a high-speed production environment. Some firmware work and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical/computer engineering or CS is required.
• 2–5 years of professional engineering experience is required.
• A track record leading projects in an engineering role is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design or assist in designing hardware and test instruments.
• Develop software applications to support hardware designs.
• Create or automate tests in C++ and Python.
• Design or assist in digital and analog circuit work, simulation and debugging.
• Research fiber-optic and wireless tech related to ADTRAN products.
• Possible involvement in firmware development.
• Fault isolate product failures to component level with thorough test coverage.
• Support changing department and company needs.
