Job summary

ADTRAN, Inc. is seeking a Test Design Engineer to contribute to the development and implementation of functional tests for ADTRAN products. You will design hardware test instrumentation and develop software to support both current and future designs.

The role involves automating tests in C++ and Python, designing digital/analog circuits, and researching advanced communications technologies. Domestic and international travel may be required as projects evolve.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science is required.
• 2–5 years of professional engineering experience.
• C/C++ object-oriented programming experience and debugging skills.
• Experience with communications test development tools and hardware design.

Responsibilities

• Design or assist in hardware test instrumentation.
• Develop or assist in software applications to support hardware designs.
• Generate test procedures, implement test hardware, and automate tests in C++ and Python.
• Design or assist in digital and analog circuits; simulate and debug.
• Research fiber-optic technologies, wireless communications, and other innovations for ADTRAN products.
• Involve in firmware development.
• Fault isolate product failures to circuit/component level and ensure test coverage in a high-speed production environment.
• Other projects may be assigned to meet department needs.
