Job summary

Gutor is seeking a Test Technician to support testing, troubleshooting, and verification of industrial UPS systems. You will follow established procedures, record results, and assist production and engineering teams to deliver high-quality products.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree or equivalent, 1–3 years in electrical environments, and solid fault-finding skills with attention to safety. This is a Houston-based, on-site role with overtime potential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent technical training in Electrical/Electronics.
• 1–3 years in electrical assembly, testing, troubleshooting, or related tech environments.
• Basic understanding of electrical theory and safety practices.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and test procedures.
• Familiarity with electrical measurement equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Proficient with MS Office for recording/test data.
• Ability to work independently following procedures.
• Not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional, load, and routine tests on UPS systems and equipment.
• Review test instructions and work orders to ensure requirements are understood.
• Assist in troubleshooting and escalate complex issues to Engineers or Senior Technicians.
• Set up and operate test equipment as required for assigned tests.
• Record and document test results, observations, and non-conformances.
• Support rework verification and retesting activities.
• Assist with qualification or special testing activities as directed.
• Maintain a clean and organized test area and proper storage after use.
• Work with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to address testing issues.
• Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action activities.
• Follow safety rules and report unsafe conditions immediately.
