Job summary

T-Rex Solutions, LLC is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to support the IRS EDOS program, helping modernize legacy tax processing systems and improve taxpayer experience. You will design, develop, and own the comprehensive test automation strategy across the software lifecycle.

Responsibilities include building Playwright-based automation frameworks, performing automated testing, and mentoring teammates. This is a hybrid, Washington, DC-area role with strong focus on quality, collaboration,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in progress with 2+ years of experience.
• US citizenship required.
• Active IRS MBI clearance and current GFE.
• Experience with test management, quality engineering strategy, planning and test execution.
• Experience with functional, manual, regression, automation, 508 and API testing.
• Experience with JIRA/Confluence, SQL, Git.
• Agile/Scrum experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication with client stakeholders at all levels.
• Prior experience working on Agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and maintain robust automation frameworks using Playwright and run automated tests.
• Leverage expertise in functional testing to ensure complete test coverage and holistic understanding.
• Lead planning and execution of automation scripts for continuous regression testing.
• Mentor junior team members, participate in code reviews, and drive continuous improvement through defect analysis.
