Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a QA Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for PeopleSoft HCM enhancements, defect fixes, and production support. You will build scalable UFT assets and data-driven scripts, and support data management and environment setup for end-to-end testing.

The role requires 3+ years in QA automation, hands-on UFT, and experience with PeopleSoft HCM. US citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software QA and test automation experience.
• Hands-on expertise with OpenText UFT (Unified Functional Testing).
• Experience automating testing for PeopleSoft HCM or similar enterprise systems.
• Ability to develop and maintain supporting automation scripts.
• Experience analyzing test failures, logs, and validating results.
• Working knowledge of SQL or query-based validation.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
• ISTQB or UFT certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for PeopleSoft HCM enhancements, defect fixes, releases, patching, and production support.
• Build scalable, reusable, and maintainable UFT automation assets including libraries and data-driven scripts.
• Develop supporting scripts for test data management, environment setup, validation, and result verification.
• Automate functional, regression, integration, interface, and end-to-end testing across PeopleSoft HCM modules and integrations.
• Implement synchronization, exception handling, checkpoints, validations, and recovery scenarios.
• Analyze automated test results, logs, and backend data to identify defects and distinguish script issues from application issues.
• Perform root cause analysis and document findings, reproduction steps, and recommended solutions.
• Collaborate with developers, QA testers, business analysts, and support teams to identify automation opportunities and align test coverage with release priorities.
• Maintain and improve automated regression suites and support test environments.
• Contribute to automation frameworks, execution standards, and quality engineering practices.
• Develop or support PeopleSoft Test Framework automation and assist in evaluating tools such as Tricentis.
• Maintain automation documentation, execution reports, test evidence, and traceability artifacts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Build scalable, reusable, and maintainable UFT automation assets, including shared functions, libraries, object repositories, parameterized components, and data-driven scripts
• Develop supporting scripts for test data management, environment setup, validation, and result verification
• Automate functional, regression, integration, interface, and end-to-end testing across PeopleSoft HCM modules, batch processes, reports, security roles, and system integrations
• Implement synchronization, exception handling, checkpoints, validations, and recovery scenarios
• Analyze automated test results, logs, and backend data to identify defects and distinguish script issues from application issues
• Perform root cause analysis and document findings, reproduction steps, and recommended solutions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• 3+ years of software QA and test automation experience supporting enterprise applications
• Hands-on expertise with OpenText UFT (Unified Functional Testing)
• Experience automating testing for PeopleSoft HCM or similar enterprise systems
• Ability to develop and maintain supporting automation scripts
• Experience analyzing test failures, reviewing logs, validating expected results, and supporting defect identification and retesting
• Working knowledge of SQL or query-based validation
• U.S. Citizenship is required
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Secret security clearance
