The C.A.S.E. Engineering Group is seeking an experienced Test Automation Engineer for a short-term, full-time contract with direct long-term conversion potential.

Immediate availability is required for a fully remote engagement in the United States. You will build automated test coverage, author unit and integration tests in .NET (xUnit or NUnit), and perform automated accessibility testing using axe, Pa11y, and Lighthouse.

Focus Areas

• Build automated test coverage across domain rules, workflow transitions, authorization, and concurrency handling
• Write tests that prove invalid state transitions are rejected and reopening paths work
• Implement automated accessibility checking against Section 508 and WCAG and remediate findings with the developers
• Produce traceability from written requirements to the tests that validate them
• Define and document the exact test commands a client will run independently
• Demonstrate selected tests and accessibility checks live
• Write and run tests validating late requirement changes

Required

• 5 or more years in test automation on software delivery teams
• Unit and integration test authoring in a .NET test framework such as xUnit or NUnit
• Automated accessibility testing using axe, Pa11y, Lighthouse, or equivalent
• Working knowledge of Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA
• Requirements to test traceability

Required of every member of this team

• Immediate availability and full time commitment for the duration of the engagement, with no competing obligations
• Personal, hands‑on contribution. All contributors are formally identified to the client by name, employer, and contribution.
• Ability to present and defend your own work live, on camera, without internet search, AI assistance, or outside help
• Comfort working from a written specification that has gaps, making defensible assumptions, and explaining your reasoning out loud
• Authorization to work in the United States and eligibility to obtain a U.S. Government background investigation
• Work performed on contractor owned equipment

Preferred

• Testing workflow and state machine behavior
• Federal accessibility compliance experience
• Performance or load testing

Engagement Terms

U.S. Citizenship Requirement: Due to federal government contract requirements and eligibility for a U.S. Government background investigation/clearance, candidate selection is restricted to U.S. Citizens only.

Commitment: Full time for the duration of the engagement

Conversion: Potential long term role

This role includes a live technical review in which you present and defend your own work to a client technical audience. The session is recorded. Internet search, AI assistance, and help from anyone outside the presenting team are not permitted during the session.
