Job summary

The Colorado Rockies Baseball Club is seeking an Area Scouting Supervisor to lead amateur talent assessment in a defined territory and to develop trusted relationships that inform draft strategy. This role reports on player evaluations and works closely with Baseball Operations leadership.

Ideal candidates will have extensive scouting experience, strong communication, and the ability to travel and work independently.

Qualifications

  • Requires strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to drive and travel; MVR checked annually.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent education/experience.
  • Experience with amateur baseball, player evaluation, and MLB Draft process.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain scouting territory coverage.
  • Identify, evaluate, and follow draft-eligible players.
  • Create accurate evaluation reports using scouting systems.
  • Maintain scouting-related records and background information.
  • Gather information through relationships with players, families, coaches, agents, and others.
  • Monitor player performance and communicate updates promptly.
  • Collaborate with crosscheckers, leadership, R&D, medical staff, and staff.
  • Present clear player recommendations at meetings and during draft prep.
  • Attend games, workouts, showcases, tournaments, and scouting events.
  • Maintain a strong professional network in the territory.
  • Protect confidential information.
