Job summary

The Colorado Rockies Baseball Club is seeking a senior-level analyst to join Baseball Analytics with a focus on developing and deploying predictive models and forecasts. The right candidate will combine technical rigor, baseball curiosity, and clear communication to help the organization make better decisions.

This posting may be filled at either the Senior Analyst or Lead Analyst level depending on experience and scope.

Qualifications

• Candidates should generally have at least 4 years of relevant experience, with 6+ years for Lead Analyst consideration.
• Experience owning complex analytical projects from scoping through delivery.
• Strong technical judgment in model development, validation, reproducibility, and communication.
• Ability to communicate priorities, uncertainty, and tradeoffs with credibility across technical to nontechnical audiences.
• Experience developing, validating, and deploying predictive models or forecasts in applied decision-making environments.
• Strong practical ability with R or Python, SQL, reproducible workflows, and model evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Building, testing, documenting, and deploying predictive models and forecasts with a high degree of autonomy in determining model type, specification, and output.
• Communicating findings, uncertainty, and practical implications to Baseball Analytics colleagues and front office decisionmakers.
• Working with the team to identify forecasting questions worth testing and to turn successful analyses into repeatable work.
