Job summary

North American Slate, the American subsidiary of a premier international slate producer, is seeking a driven Sales Representative for the Southeast region. You will prospect, negotiate with contractors and architects, and manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation to close.

Travel about 50% to visit customers across GA, NC, SC, VA, and TN. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years outside sales experience, preferably construction-related.

• Identifying and prospecting new customers and building lasting partnerships.

• Estimating/quoting/analysing costs to competitively sell slate products.

We are seeking a Sales Representative with drive, new ideas, creativity and foresight to help us shape the future of North American Slate.

Responsibilities:

• Identifying and prospecting new customers building relationships that create lasting partnerships.
• Meeting contractors, suppliers, and architects while effectively negotiating within the provided framework as it relates to pricing flexibility, acceptable contract terms and any potential concessions achieving sales objectives.
• Managing the entire sales life cycle from prospecting to deal close.
• Providing consistent reporting to leadership for current and future sales and project oversight.
• Accurately provide project sales forecasting and monitoring of pipeline projects to reach sales targets.
• Managing leads within assigned territory, sending information and samples, coordinating logistics.
• Estimating, quoting and analyzing costs to strategically sell offered slate products in a competitive market.
• Ongoing account management including lead generation, qualification, product presentation, negotiation, closing the sale and post-sale account management.

What we are looking for:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree

Field of Study Preferred:

Sales, Marketing, or a related field

Required Work Experience:

Three years of business outside sales experience, preferably construction-related

What we provide:

• $65,000 to $100,000 highly competitive base salary coupled with bonus remuneration based upon sales target achievement.
