Job summary

North American Slate is seeking a field sales professional to expand our footprint in the Southeastern region. You will prospect new customers, nurture relationships with contractors and architects, and manage the full sales cycle from lead to close.

Travel approximately 50% across GA, NC, SC, VA, and TN, with local candidates preferred. A Bachelor’s degree in Sales/Marketing and 3+ years of outside sales experience are required, with a focus on construction-related products.

Qualifications

• Three years of outside sales experience, preferably construction.
• 50% travel required.
• Regional travel includes GA, NC, SC, VA and TN; local candidates preferred; no relocation.

Responsibilities

• Identifying and prospecting new customers building relationships that create lasting partnerships.
• Meeting contractors, suppliers, and architects while effectively negotiating within the provided framework as it relates to pricing flexibility, acceptable contract terms and any potential concessions achieving sales objectives.
• Managing the entire sales life cycle from prospecting to deal close.
• Providing consistent reporting to leadership for current and future sales and project oversight.
• Accurately provide project sales forecasting and monitoring of pipeline projects to reach sales targets.
• Managing leads within assigned territory, sending information and samples, coordinating logistics.
• Estimating, quoting and analyzing costs to strategically sell offered slate products in a competitive market.
• Ongoing account management including lead generation, qualification, product presentation, negotiation, closing the sale and post-sale account management.

What we are looking for:

Education: Bachelor’s degree

Field of Study Preferred: Sales, Marketing, or a related field

Required Work Experience: Three years of business outside sales experience, preferably construction-related

Travel Requirements: 50%

What we provide:

$65,000 to $100,000 highly competitive base salary coupled with bonus remuneration based upon sales target achievement.
