POSITION PURPOSE
The Territory Sales Manager is the primary liaison between the company and our key customers in the field, ensuring our market position is secure and growth-oriented. They are the front line of support that drives top-line sales growth. Acting as Trusted Advisors, they provide the best mix of products and information to foster a superior Infection Prevention environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
- Achieve all target goals for the territory
- Meet monthly, quarterly, and annual sales quotas established by the company.
- Demonstrate competency in selling the full portfolio of products.
- Cultivate relationships with distributors, IDN, and acute care entities
- Manage sales and marketing activities with assigned IDNs and select dealers to meet sales growth objectives.
- Follow corporate programs with regional and national distributors to ensure supply chain coverage to end-users. Build relationships with key distribution and GPO sales representatives and management.
- Partner internally with cross-functional teams
- Collaborate with Medical Science Liaisons to support regional business objectives.
- Work with National Accounts, Marketing, and other departments to identify opportunities or address issues related to daily activities.
- Report and analyze sales results
- Document sales activity using Salesforce.com, maintain customer profiles, and retain relevant documents.
- Collect and report competitive information, relay new product ideas, promotional strategies, and extensions for management evaluation.
- Prepare and deliver reports such as sales forecasts, monthly updates, expense reports, and problem-solving documents.
- Champion infection prevention opportunities
- Complete education modules and webinars on PDI University timely.
- Participate in local strategic partner meetings (APIC, AVA, EVS).
- Performance metrics
- Achieve/exceed growth targets in focus portfolios.
- Meet educational goals consistently.
- Maintain up-to-date back-office activities (SFDC, reporting, etc.).
Qualifications
Education/Certification
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
Required Knowledge
- Understanding of basic sales techniques, business development, and the acute care market.
- Knowledge in Infection Prevention, Vascular Access, Environmental Services, and Surgical Suite applications is recommended.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of sales experience in Acute Care and B2B companies.
Skills/Abilities
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Salesforce.com, or other CRM tools.
- Strategic focus, relationship-building, and ability to challenge norms.
Working Conditions
- Field-based role in healthcare settings, possibly requiring PPE.
- Significant travel, including nights and weekends.
Compensation & Benefits
The total compensation range is $72,000 – $165,000+ (uncapped), depending on factors like location, skills, experience, and performance.
