Job summary

Sysco in Atlanta seeks an experienced outside sales professional to promote its products and services and to build strong relationships with new and existing accounts. You will help customers succeed while achieving sales and profit goals, and may work some non-traditional hours to meet client needs.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent sales experience, valid driver’s license, and ability to travel within the territory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related discipline OR HS/GED with 3 years relevant sales/restaurant management experience.
• Preferred bilingual; Restaurant Management, Foodservice Outside Sales, Chef experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a driving record meeting insurability; current auto insurance as specified.

Responsibilities

• Develop new business, penetrate existing accounts, and minimize lost business to achieve profitable sales growth within territory.
• Seek and qualify prospects following account stratification goals.
• Research customer needs and develop a mix of products/services to meet those needs.
• Evaluate market trends and recommend products based on business needs.
• Be informed of market conditions, product innovations, and competitors’ products; share information with customers.
• Answer questions about products, prices, availability, and usage.
• Provide product information and practical training to customer personnel.
• Drive to customer accounts, conventions, meetings, and participate in sales/district events.
• Coordinate deliveries and troubleshoot order issues, manage accounts receivable as needed.
• Attend general sales and district meetings and engage in ongoing training.
