Job description

KWS Cereals USA LLC is seeking a Territory Manager to ensure the successful introduction and establishment of hybrid rye sales and connected services in the Upper Midwest US. The role involves collaborating with key stakeholders, both internally and externally, to optimize sales of KWS hybrid rye varieties in terms of value and volume. This position is home office-based with an expectation of 50% travel.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Manage Relationships with Seed Dealers and Distributors:
    • Maintain and grow relationships with current and new dealers and distributors in the region.
    • Handle dealer/distributor agreements, manage invoicing and debtor accounts.
    • Work closely with the US Sales Manager to set sales goals and pricing strategies.
  2. Promote Hybrid Rye to Farmers:
    • Generate interest among farmers through field days, training, and events.
    • Provide growing recommendations and support, including crop rotation advice.
  3. Market Analysis and Integration:
    • Identify market requirements and develop solutions to incorporate hybrid rye, especially for pig and cattle feeding and KWS Cover+.
  4. User Experience:
    • Engage directly with users to gather feedback and improve experience.
  5. Sales Targets and Responsibilities:
    • Meet sales targets, create visit reports, analyze market data, and maintain customer data in CRM (Salesforce).
  6. Support Agronomic Trials and Research:
    • Assist in coordinating trials and analyzing data.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven sales experience in developing new markets within the agriculture industry.
  • Technical knowledge of small grains cultivation.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically and work outdoors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • BA/BS in Agriculture or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CRM/Salesforce and SAP.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience.

We Offer:

  • Salary between $65,000 and $80,000, plus potential annual bonus, with actual pay determined at offer time based on location and qualifications.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, sit, handle objects, reach, and occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 25 pounds occasionally. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
