Job summary

Terumo Interventional Systems seeks an experienced medical device sales professional to drive growth across radiology, cardiology and vascular surgery accounts in the Portland area. You will develop strategic plans, deliver high-impact product presentations and educate clinicians on device usage.

The role requires strong relationship-building with hospital staff, travel within the territory, and maintaining up-to-date clinical knowledge to support endovascular procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 3 years in medical device sales; 11 years equivalent experience preferred.
  • Cath Lab and/or Operating Room sales experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and personal automobile with active insurance.
  • Ability to travel within territory including overnight stays.

  • Sell and promote Terumo Interventional Systems products to interventional radiologists, interventional cardiologists, vascular surgeons and purchasing/materials management.

Job description

  • Sell and promote Terumo Interventional Systems products to interventional radiologists, interventional cardiologists, vascular surgeons and purchasing/materials management
  • Achieve assigned monthly, quarterly and annual sales revenue targets
  • Develop sales and market opportunities in acute care and outpatient facilities
  • Build rapport with key decision makers and penetrate key hospital departments
  • Develop comprehensive business plans and account strategies
  • Identify competitive issues and opportunities and collaborate with Sales and Marketing Management
  • Call on current and potential customers
  • Develop and implement sales strategies and techniques
  • Conduct sales and product presentations and educate customers on product use
  • Maintain comprehensive clinical and technical product knowledge
  • Attend, support and provide in-service during endovascular procedures
  • Maintain and grow existing business and develop new business opportunities
  • Monitor and communicate competitive threats and market intelligence to the Region Manager
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships through visits and telephone contact
  • Conduct customer in-services
  • Collaborate with Customer Administration, Logistics, Marketing and Technical Support
  • File weekly, monthly and competitive product reports
  • Attend trade shows and conventions
  • Maintain compliance with TMC Quality Systems, FDA regulations, international guidelines and Terumo policies
  • Recognize and forward customer complaints to Quality Assurance
  • Ensure promotional messaging and materials are clinically accurate and compliant with AdvaMed guidelines
  • Drive daily to customer accounts and travel within and occasionally outside the assigned territory, including overnight and weekend travel
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Medical Device Sales
  • Cath Lab and/or Operating Room sales experience preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education, training and experience, to include a minimum of 11 years Medical Device Sales experience
  • Proven record of sales excellence
  • Endovascular and/or operating room experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license
  • Personal automobile with an active vehicle insurance policy
  • Strong presentation, analytical and customer service skills
  • Ability to understand complex medical procedures and engage in in-depth technical conversations with physicians and staff
  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy, specifically vascular and venous systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and iPad navigation
  • Ability to gain access to and work in IR suite, Cath lab and operating room
  • Ability to wear appropriate gowning, stand for long periods, comply with hospital protocols and be aware of potential biohazards
  • Must meet vendor credentialing requirements, including training, background check and proof of immunization, where applicable
