Job summary

Berkley Management Protection is seeking a Territory Manager to lead marketing efforts for management liability solutions in a defined state or territory. You will coordinate with the AVP, work with underwriting, and drive agency partnerships to grow market share while managing resources and performance targets.

The role emphasizes sales leadership, territory development, and collaboration across teams to deliver profitable growth and strong relationships with agents and regional leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of insurance marketing experience.
• Four-year college degree or equivalent.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload.
• Proven negotiation, sales and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel in assigned territory (60% external facing role).

Responsibilities

• Grow the private company management liability lines of business in assigned territory.
• Collaborate with the AVP to establish and implement a sales culture.
• Establish strong relationships with agents to drive growth and mutually beneficial results.
• Manage distribution and negotiate agency appointment agreements.
• Monitor competitors’ offerings and industry issues.
• Contribute to underwriting and regional strategies within the region and nationally.

Responsibilities

This position is the marketing focal point for Berkley Management Protection in a given state or territory. Designated to coordinate resources and expertise in meeting and exceeding results in that state or territory. All agency management and distribution strategies and tactics will be implemented by the Territory Manager. The Territory Manager will report directly to the AVP and will also collaborate with underwriting. The Territory Manager position works with the AVP & RVP in managing agency distribution and executing growth, profit and relationship building.

• Grow the private company management liability lines of business in assigned territory
• Work closely with the Assistant Vice President to establish and implement a sales culture
• Establish strong relationships with agents in driving mutually beneficial results through agency planning, production and growth
• Manage distribution and negotiate agency appointment agreements
• Monitor competitors’ offerings and emerging industry issues
• Influence the structure of the region to capitalize on the strengths of the individual team members
• Work with regional and senior leadership team to develop and drive underwriting and business strategies within region and nationally

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years insurance marketing experience.
• Four-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Good organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks and effectively prioritize workload
• Demonstrated depth in negotiation, sales and problem-solving skills.
• Strong computer skills and ability to work with multi-faceted systems.
• Ability to effectively and independently manage complex workload while exhibiting very sound judgment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with agents and other departments while exemplifying superior teamwork.
• Ability to travel in assigned territory - 60% agency engagement/ travel- this is an external facing role with a combination of in person and virtual agency appointments with a strong emphasis to meet face to face whenever possible
