Mutual of Enumclaw Insurance Company is seeking a Farm & Agribusiness Lines Underwriter to own a territory, partner with local independent agents, and make underwriting calls to write profitable farm and agribusiness accounts. You will report to an Underwriting Manager and collaborate with Sales and Marketing.

Hybrid work with preference for Washington; remote options possible for some states with travel to Seattle area. Core Pacific Time hours and high-speed internet required.

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years of underwriting, policy services, or related business experience.
• A bachelor’s or associate’s degree, or a high school diploma with relevant business experience.
• A proven track record of building relationships with agents or colleagues.
• Solid knowledge of the local marketplace, industry trends, and reinsurance treaties.
• Sound judgment, a data-driven approach, and the ability to clearly explain your decisions.
• Curiosity, urgency, and a willingness to challenge the status quo.
• Clear, professional communication and strong collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related software.
• Insurance designations or certifications are a plus.

Aufgaben

• Underwrite new business, renewals, and endorsements within your authority, mostly small to medium risks of low to moderate complexity, with the occasional larger, more complex account.
• Independently manage your assigned territory and agency submission flow.
• Build strong agent relationships and partner with your Regional Sales Manager on agency business plans.
• Use consultative sales skills to negotiate price, terms, and conditions with agency partners.
• Work with Sales and Marketing to generate submissions that fit our appetite.
• Evaluate natural catastrophe exposures with modeling tools and determine when facultative reinsurance is needed.
• Escalate risks beyond your authority and keep files documented to our underwriting and regulatory standards.
• Support strategic initiatives, systems testing, and process improvements with Underwriting and IT.
