Job summary

Spherion WI & Northern IL is seeking a Business Development Manager to grow our presence in the greater Fox Valley and Green Bay market as we open a new Appleton office. This role focuses on business development and market expansion—identifying opportunities, initiating outreach, and engaging companies that can benefit from our staffing solutions.

You'll be out in the market at events, on the phone, and meeting with businesses to build relationships and generate new opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of experience in recruiting, business development, or B2B sales.
• Experience in staffing and recruiting is preferred; strong B2B sales in the local market also considered.
• Comfortable initiating conversations and building relationships from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Prospect and engage companies through cold outreach, networking, referrals, and in-person visits.
• Build relationships with HR leaders and business owners to uncover hiring challenges.
• Generate new client partnerships by introducing staffing and workforce solutions.
• Own the full sales cycle from initial outreach through contract execution.
• Develop and maintain a healthy pipeline through consistent activity and follow-up.
• Establish visibility in the local business community via events and industry groups.
