Job summary

Alterra Mountain Company is seeking Terrain Park Crew Members at Stratton Mountain for a full-time seasonal role. You’ll work with Grooming to build and maintain terrain parks while delivering a safe, fun experience for guests.

You must be 18+, ski or ride terrain parks, stay prepared for all weather, have a valid driver's license and the ability to lift 50 lbs. This position pays $20.00 per hour and includes access to employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Proficient terrain park skier or rider.
• Knowledge of terrain park trends, design, building, and best practices.
• Ability to perform work in all weather conditions.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and meet policy requirements.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. unassisted.
• Must be a team player.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Grooming team to construct Terrain Parks.
• Open and close parks, mark features, tune, and test features.
• Bring creative terrain park design ideas to the table.
• Interact with guests and maintain a presence in the parks.
• Educate guests on Park Etiquette and slope safety.
• Enforce Stratton Policies in Terrain Parks.
• Install/remove signage, banners, rope, flagging, and fencing.
• Inspect and maintain all terrain features.
• Assist Events Team with Terrain Park events.
• Report Park issues to leads/supervisor.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Terrain Park Crew is an essential part of the parks department at Stratton Mountain. We provide a progression-based park platform to challenge our riders and push them to continue to grow their skills every season. Terrain Park Crew Members will do daily checks on the parks to keep all guests safe and have direct impact on the features and layouts in all our parks. This is a full-time seasonal opportunity, compensated at $20.00/hour.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Collaboration with Grooming team to construct Terrain Parks
• Opening and closing of parks, marking features, hand tuning features, and testing features
• Bringing creative park design ideas to the table
• Facilitating a dynamic terrain park experience by interacting with guests and maintaining a presence in the parks
• Educating guests in “Park Etiquette” and promoting slope safety
• Enforcing Stratton Policies in Terrain Parks
• Install and remove signage, banners, rope, flagging, and fencing
• Perform routine inspections of all terrain features
• Perform regular maintenance of all terrain features
• Assist the Events Team with Terrain Park events
• Report Park issues to leads/supervisor
• Additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Proficient Terrain Park skier or rider
• Knowledge of terrain park trends, design, building, and best practices
• Ability to perform work in all weather conditions
• Must have a valid driver’s license and meet the minimum requirements of the Intrawest Driver’s Standards Policy
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. unassisted
• Must be a team player
