Job summary

Performs task in the areas of machine set up, trouble shooting, and machine general maintenance. Maintains records of machine maintenance and machine production specification records. Works under direct supervision of Terminating Lead/Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Identify proper machine set-up specifications.
  • Set-up wire terminating machines to job specifications.
  • Basic maintenance and trouble shooting of wire terminating machines.
  • Inspect products to ensure within specifications.
  • Communicate problems with machine operation and set up to supervision.
  • Maintain machine maintenance records and machine production specification records.
  • Miscellaneous other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

  • Ability to work while standing, kneeling, sitting, or bent position and ability to climb up/down a ladder.
  • Ability to maintain a brisk pace and meet generally accepted set-up times.

Education and/or Experience

Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to convert between fractions and decimal equivalents.
  • Ability to read a ruler to 1/64 of one inch.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

Well lit, air conditioned, and heated facility. Low to moderate noise level. Wire/cable and terminal debris and compressed air tools. While performing the essential duties of the job the employee will either be seated at a work bench or stand on a concrete floor.

HAZARDS

Compressed air, electrical shock, rotating equipment, and cutting (sharp objects).

REQUIRED SAFETY EQUIPMENT

Safety glasses and safety shoes with a solid sole. Hearing protection optional.
