Job summary

Sunoco LP in California seeks a Terminal Operator Trainee to manage receipt and shipment of fuels via pipeline, railcar and truck. You will unload railcars, monitor tankage, and assist the Terminal Manager in safety, maintenance and environment compliance.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, inventory reporting, samples for quality control, and interfacing with drivers. High school diploma required; 1 year related experience preferred. Competitive benefits and shift-based duties apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of petroleum products and industry terminology.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains all processes related to storage and unloading of railcars.
• Unloads ethanol and renewable diesel fuels into tanks from railcars.
• Retrieve samples of ethanol for testing.
• Creates ticket bills of ladings and issues paperwork.
• Responds to after-hours calls (24/7).
• Ensures safety and environmental compliance at the terminal.
• Uses Terminal Automation System to prepare inventory reports and balances.
• Trains drivers on automation and safety features.
• Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations.
