Road & Rail Services in Baltimore, MD, is seeking a Terminal Manager to oversee daily transloading operations. This hands-on leadership role focuses on safety, productivity, and financial performance, directing terminal staff and coordinating transfers between railcars, tanker trucks, and storage or transportation equipment.

The ideal candidate will have experience in chemical handling or related industries, be comfortable working outdoors, and hold strong communication and problem-solving

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of supervisory experience in a terminal or similar setting.
• Experience managing budgets or P&L performance.
• Strong knowledge of safety and industrial operating procedures.
• Ability to lead employees and make timely operational decisions.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions and climates.
• Experience with chemical handling or rail/transloading is a plus.
• Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, FRA, and DOT requirements.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily activities of terminal and transloading staff.
• Coordinate safe transfer of chemical, liquid, dry-bulk, and related products.
• Ensure procedures for loading, unloading, grounding, bonding, sampling, and securement are followed.
• Maintain compliance with company, customer, OSHA, EPA, FRA, DOT, and site requirements.
• Conduct safety meetings, inspections, and employee training.
• Monitor product quality, transfer accuracy, and contamination-prevention practices.
• Inspect and maintain hoses, pumps, valves, and transfer equipment.
• Respond to spills, leaks, and equipment failures per procedures.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, attendance, and performance.
• Maintain transfer logs, manifests, and training records.
• Monitor operating expenses and support budget and profit objectives.
• Communicate with customers, drivers, railroad reps, vendors, and leadership.
