Indiana University Bloomington invites applications for Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Music (Percussion) in the Jacobs School of Music. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate percussion, coach chamber music, and possibly orchestral repertoire (percussion/timpani).

The role requires an established national/international reputation as a performer and teacher, with significant percussion experience. Tenure-track or tenured positions available.

Qualifications

• Established national/international reputation and demonstrated ability as a performer and teacher, able to attract highly talented students.
• Significant experience in general/orchestral percussion/timpani performance.
• Master’s degree required, doctorate preferred; comparable professional experience will be given equal consideration.

Responsibilities

• Studio instruction for undergraduate and graduate percussion students.
• Chamber music coaching.
• Orchestral repertoire class (percussion/timpani) may be a component.
• Participation in school-wide committees and departmental hearings, auditions, recruitment, master classes, and other activities.
