Job summary

The Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University Bloomington seeks candidates for a tenure-track Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Music (Double Bass) in the Department of Strings.

The successful candidate will have extensive performing and teaching experience, hold a bachelor’s degree in music (advanced degrees preferred), and contribute to undergraduate and graduate programs, auditions, and department activities.

Qualifications

• Extensive performing and teaching experience at the highest levels.
• Bachelor’s degree in music or equivalent training; advanced degrees preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach double bass across all degree programs (freshmen to doctoral).
• Teach studio class and possibly orchestral repertoire class.
• Participate in departmental meetings, auditions, committees, and outreach activities.
