Suffolk County Community College seeks a full-time, tenure-track Instructor/Assistant Professor to serve as the Program Coordinator for the Surgical Technology Program at the Michael J. Grant Campus in Brentwood.

The role requires an Associate Degree in Surgical Technology, CST certification, and a minimum of five years of relevant experience, with a strong focus on program development, accreditation, and collaboration with clinical partners.

Qualifikationen

• Associate degree in Surgical Technology from an accredited program.
• Current CST certification from NBSTSA.
• Minimum 5 years of operating room scrub or teaching experience in surgical technology in the past 10 years.
• Proficiency in instructional methodology, curriculum design, and program planning.
• Commitment to equity and student success; familiarity with LMS (Brightspace).

Aufgaben

• Be responsible for all aspects of the Surgical Technology program, including organization, administration, planning, development, and budget.
• Maintain CST certification and stay current with ARC/STSA accreditation.
• Participate in search committees to hire faculty and facilitate faculty meetings.
• Administer and lead Program Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings; maintain program accreditation.
• Design and maintain curriculum, including syllabi and course updates to meet accreditation standards.
• Develop a program of student assessment and evaluation; promote pedagogical innovation.
• Collaborate with clinical partners to recruit students and promote placements.
